AttractionsEdith Falls Edith Falls is located on the western boundary of Nitmiluk National Park. A series of picturesque waterfalls and pools are the main feature of Edith Falls. The large pool at the base of the escarpment, into which Edith Falls cascades, is a popular swimming pool. When To Visit The most comfortable months to visit the Park are from May to September. The wet season from October to April causes flooding and as a result the access road may be cut short for periods of time. Access Edith Falls can be reached by following the Stuart Highway north from Katherine for 40 km then following a sealed road for another 20 km. Visitor Facilities Picnic and camping facilities are provided at the Falls. Wood barbecues, tables and an ablutions block with shower and toilet facilities are provided for your use. A commercial kiosk is located at the falls for payment of camping fees and purchase of food and drinks. Edith Falls has a landscaped camp ground with unpowered sites. Visitors with very long caravans are not presently catered for. Walking Two walks are available at Edith Falls. The Leliyn Trail is a 2.6 km round trip that climbs to the top of the escarpment and then down to the Upper pool above the falls. Walkers have the opportunity to swim at the pool and also to enjoy the views of the waterfalls and Edith River. The walk will take up to two hours to complete. A second longer walk follows the Edith River to Sweetwater Pool (8.6 km return). This trail is for overnight walkers and a permit must be obtained from the kiosk at Edith Falls. No facilities are provided at the pool however, the location is ideal for swimming and nature appreciation. Fishing No fishing is permitted at Edith Falls. Protecting Our Heritage
